I had the opportunity to design the logo for Sista Scrooge, an upcoming Christmas musical with a dramatic edge and a touch of darkness. The story explores the journey of a woman facing her inner demons, so I wanted the logo to embody both the mystery of that struggle and the festive elements of the holiday season.
To achieve this, I leaned into a classic serif typeface that brings a timeless, almost vintage quality, grounding the piece in tradition while nodding to the familiar Christmas story it’s inspired by. At the heart of the design, I incorporated a Christmas tree — a universal symbol of the season — but layered it with a twist: a set of watchful eyes peering out from behind. This subtle detail reflects the central theme of confronting what lies beneath the surface, hinting at the inner battles that drive the narrative forward.
My goal was to strike a balance between holiday warmth and a sense of intrigue, giving the audience an immediate feel for the unique tone of the production. The end result is a logo that feels festive yet layered, inviting, yet slightly haunting — much like the story itself.
This is an ongoing project, and the logo is just the starting point. I’ll also be designing additional materials such as the playbill, soundtrack cover, and other visual elements that will bring the world of Sista Scrooge to life across its branding and promotion.
